"I have been using your new prototype collapsible hiking poles for some 300 miles. I felt I had to personally congratulate Gossamer Gear on this new creation. I have been using poles for many years now. Over the years I have tried some dozen pairs of poles and found yours to be the best ultralight and versatile, yet tough, pair I've used. The lack of straps is not an issue with the ergo grips. I feel they are as strong as any of the carbon fiber poles.....there is little, if any, vibration. The adjustability is just what I've been waiting for. Now my tarps and shelters can be easily configured depending on weather conditions. Gossamer Gear is proud and excited to now offer the Lightrek™ 4, or LT4, trekking poles. Weighing in at a measly 7.2 ounces per pair, they are adjustable up to 140 cm, easy to use and feature a new spiral wrap at the tip section for added durability where you need it most. Assembly and adjustment of the Lightrek™ 4's is as easy as can be, just insert the tip section into the grip section and give it a few twists to expand the rubber component until it's snug. The Lightrek™ 4's feature the same fully ergonomic EVA "Kork-o-lon" grips and a hardened carbide tip accepts Leki™ brand baskets. Two trekking baskets are included with each set. The price is for a pair of poles. Elegant, simple, strong and gorilla-tested, these poles are everything you need and nothing you don't. The Lightrek™ 4's are the latest and greatest in the evolution of our trekking pole line.

These Lightrek™ 4 Trekking Poles are the Matte Black poles. We also have these poles available in the new Khyber Camo color. We have also recently added a shorter version in both colors. The new Short length is 3 in. (8 cm.) shorter than the Regular length when completely closed.

The poles do not have straps, but before you think they’re necessary, you should try a ~3 oz. pole. Most testers who bemoaned the lack of straps found they liked the poles better without straps, after using them for a few trips, because of the extreme light weight. A small loop of spectra core cord at the bottom of the handle allows the user to attach "keeper" straps or cords, to leave hands free when taking photos, for instance. The loops are not designed to take any significant force, and are not intended as an attachment point for conventional straps. If you're sure you need straps, you can now order the strap version.

The Lightrek™ 4 poles ship in a heavy duty industrial-grade cardboard mailing tube, just like our other poles but shorter.
