For 2009, we have incorporated a removable hip belt on the Miniposa™ Ultralight Backpack. This feature allows a better fit for the user. This system also provides thru-hikers the ability to utilize two different size hip belts on those months-long, weight-shedding long distance hikes. A hiker could start out with a larger hip belt and then mail the smaller one to a mail drop up ahead on the trail when they feel they will have lost enough weight to justify the smaller belt. No more field sewing of the hip belt with floss to make it fit better! For the Miniposa™ Hip Belt we have used a lighter weight wicking fabric which prevents slipping and the 3-dimensional weave aids in faster drying times.

NOTE: THIS IS THE LIGHTER WEIGHT HIP BELT FOR THE MINIPOSA™ PACK. WE SELL A HEAVIER WEIGHT VERSION FOR THE MARIPOSA™ PLUS AND GORILLA™ PACKS HERE. THESE BELTS ARE INTERCHANGEABLE AMONG ALL THREE PACKS (i.e. YOU CAN USE THE HEAVIER BELT ON THE MINI OR THE LIGHTER BELT ON THE PLUS OR GORILLA™).
