Humphreys Basin in the Sierra - 2008
|
Glen shows his buddy Jules Lambert, the President of ProBar, the light side as they head out Piute Pass from Bishop, and hike a section of Roper's Sierra High Route through the Humphreys Basin before looping back on trails.
When Jules and his family were visiting Glen's house earlier in the year, Glen took the opportunity to show Jules some of his gear. Jules expressed an interest in getting out to the backcountry, so a date was set for the fall. Jules did a great job putting together a light kit, between new purchases and borrowing from Glen's capacious gear closet. And, of course, there were plenty of ProBars to eat!

After the drive up, a quick stop to pick up our backcountry permit, we headed up to the North Lake campground, figuring on spending the night there to acclimate, and getting an early start the next morning. Jules in front of his Spinnshelter. It got to a chilly 19 degrees that night.

We were off early the next morning, hiking up the North Fork of Bishop Creek towards Piute Pass. Here Jules stops in front of Piute Lake.
