Wonderland Trail - 2009
With the elevation changes, some sections were pretty austere. This is the 'snout' of the Winthrop Glacier, with a huge volume of water rushing out from it. The rocks on top are from rockfall as it coursed down the mountain.
This river had cut a huge gash through the rock. Two other hikers had just taken a dip in this... brrrr!
Glen heading downhill. Some portions of the trail reminded us of Hawaii.
We never got tired of the wildflowers. Glen enjoying a quick dip in one of the Golden Lakes, a welcome respite after the climb out of Mowich River. This lake was unique because it had a black coarse sand bottom.
A nice fat marmot. A skinny Henry drinks his morning liter of coffee.
