Wonderland Trail - 2009
Mt. Rainier (and Henry) reflected in a trailside pond in Spray Park. The aptly-named Giant Falls.
When we chatted with the pretty ranger at Golden Lakes camp and told her we were looking for a nice place to view the alpenglow on Rainier, she told us about an almost imperceptible 'social trail' to a great little lake. We got tired of getting eaten alive while waiting for the sun to set, so dashed the mile back to camp for headnets and DEET, and hurried back just in time to catch 'the glow'.
On the road again... Lupine, etc.
Henry crossing the impressive suspension bridge over Tahoma Creek. More flowers.
Rainier always in the distance. Glen heading up a snowfield under the watchful eye of Rainier, on the way to Eagles Roost.
Henry and Glen on Emerald Ridge. Glen on Emerald Ridge, taking in the mighty Tahoma Glacier.
