Recycled Robic nylon resists cuts and tears, ample pockets make organization a breeze, and the extra attachment points make heavy-duty accessories like an ice axe feel weightless. This limited-edition bundle includes the matching Hikerkind Bumster Belt Bag for extra storage on the move. 

An S-curve harness and load lifters provide even weight distribution, and you'll enjoy our signature PVT Frame+Belt: an aluminum, closed-shape frame and pivoting hipbelt that allow your pack to comfortably move with your natural gait. 

**The Hikerkind Mariposa is only available in a Small and comes with a S/M Curved Belt. The process for receiving another belt is to add an additional hipbelt to your order, swap it out at home, and then return the original belt for a $25 refund here.

Backpack Sizing Guide

Sizing & Fit

For best fit, you will need your torso length, hip and waist measurements. 

Torso length:

1. Start at the C7 vertebra at the base of your neck. The best way to find this is to bend your neck and feel the first bump along the base of your neck. This bump is where you will want to start your measurement. 

2. Next, you'll want to find the midpoint between your iliac crest. To find your iliac crest, cup your hip bones on both sides and find the center point on your spine. This midpoint is where your thumbs should be pointing. 

3. Finally, measure from the C7 vertebra to your iliac crest. From there, you'll have your torso measurement. 

Torso Fit Illustration

Small: 16" - 18" 

Medium: 18" - 20" 

Large: 20" - 22" 

If you're in between sizes, you can: 

    + size down for more of a shoulder wrap and higher hipbelt 

    + size up for a lower hipbelt fit

Hipbelt Sizing

Hip Measurement: 

1. You will want to find your iliac crest again by cupping your hip bones on both sides.

2. Then, wrap a soft measuring tape or string around the top of your iliac crest. This will tell you your hip measurement.

Waist Measurement:

1. Using the same soft measuring tape or string, find the smallest part of your midsection—typically, this is 1-2 inches above your belly button. 

2. Measure around that area for your waist measurement. 

Waist to Hip Ratio:
Calculate your WHR by dividing your waist measurement by your hip measurement. 

If it is 0.85 or lower, you will likely need a curved hipbelt. If it is higher than 0.85, you will likely need a straight hipbelt. If you're unsure which hipbelt shape will fit best, we recommend purchasing both to dial in the fit. This is because everyone's anatomy is different.

FAQ

What hipbelt is included with my pack?

  • Small pack includes a S/M Curved belt. Medium and Large packs include a M Straight Belt.

Will a Bear Canister fit inside a Mariposa?

  • Yes, all models of bear canisters will fit vertically in this pack! Smaller designs like the Bare Boxer and the Bear Vault 450 will fit horizontally in the main compartment.

Can I use this backpack without the hip belt?

  • Yes! But when using this pack without the hip belt you must remove the internal stay.
