Our Gorilla 50, bumster and umbrella were absolute lifesavers as we walked over 500 miles on the Camino de Santiago! Having an ultra light pack helped me to keep the carry weight down and the plastic liner protected our contents from the rain. Before long the pack felt like a part of my body. The umbrella was great sun protection on the Meseta! This combination is a must have for anyone considering walking the Camino.
It made carrying 22 lbs through the Mt Hood wilderness comfortable organized. Love this internal frame and the seat cushion pull out.
I got the Fast Belt to add some stability to a Loris 25. The nice thing with the Gatekeeper clips is that you can mount the Fast Belt to most backpacks with 25mm/1” triglides without cutting the triglides off. There’s usually enough room in the loop for both.
I’ve taken it out twice for a 3 and 2 hr hike. It’s very comfortable to wear. I like the flap closure and the zipper opening into the main compartment. It makes it easy to get to items that are at the bottom. I like that the sternum strap can be adjusted up or down. The built in seat pad is a nice feature. The only con is that I can’t reach my water bottles without taking off the pack and I wish the zipper on the small outside pouch was horizontal instead of vertical. Things kind of slide out when open. But overall I really like it.
Amazing Tarp. Simple set-up and when hit with an unexpected storm on the Cranberry Lake 50 held strong in high winds and stayed perfectly dry inside. Packs down to nothing, so light I even bring it with me on day hikes as an emergency shelter. Will never go back to a tent.
I had the old version and this is considerably better with another zipper in the back and 2 net pockets internally.
This pack is a dream! I have never carried such a comfortable pack in my life. Three day trip, not a single “rub” or bruise anywhere. The fit is only one amazing thing about the pack. The side pockets and stretch pocket make this pack so easy to organize gear. The weather had me constantly switching layers and the pockets made it so easy to easily access my puffy jacket for longer stops, gloves and pants in the AM, and a wind jacket (the Patagonia Houdini is another amazing piece of gear). I cannot say enough about the Mariposa. It is a gem! If you don’t own one, do yourself a favor and buy one right NOW!

Good pack. Seems a little taller than it used to be. I used the old Gorilla 40 & 50 back before they had load lifters. I do like the addition of the load lifters and the height of the load lifters is correct versus the way the old Mariposa had the load lifters installed. Overall I’m happy with it. I would like to see some waterproof fabrics in the future though.

Best daily driver backpack for work that I’ve ever had. Just the right amount of size and shape for carrying lunch, shakes, obviously coffee, and small essentials. Hand sanitizer and headache medicine are other permanent features in my strap pockets. Top handles are…well, handy. If I ever lost this one I’d buy the exact same one again.
I love that I can replace just the bits that fail.
Great pack. Holds everything I need for my run to work, day hikes or hopping around town. The side pockets can be tricky to use if you have low shoulder mobility but I can reach them fine. I recommend you loosen the bag a little before chicken winging back there. Should make it easier. The fast belt is a great accessory to help stabilize while running. Tossed my headphones case in there. Plenty of room for snacks of all sorts. The phone and water bottle holders sit a little high. Not my favorite for every day use but for hiking they’re fine. Large enough to hold whatever phone you have and up to a medium sized Owala. 28oz I think? The pack itself is a winner. Super light and comfortable. I like the yellow because increases visibility on the roads. My only wish is that I could wear two at a time. #goroenvy
Perfectly named for all the sidequests. I love this bag it is absolutely perfect for holding art supplies. Don’t sleep on this bag if you are an urban sketcher or nature journalist. It holds an A5 sketchbook, flat watercolor palette, brushes and pens as well as a small water jar perfectly. I have been using this for quick art detours or days where I need a purse and I might want to sketch later. I also love how packable this bag is, I have taken it on multiple trips that involve air travel, it easily fits into my carryon bag when you have to consolidate bags and then I can pop it out in the plane and have all my supplies ready to go for a mid flight painting session. If you are into art or journaling this is a great bag. Otherwise it is a nice handy purse substitute for anyone who is traveling and wants pockets to stay organized.
I have used a ULA Circuit for years, almost a decade. I have never been able to grab my own waterbottle while using the Circuit, the Mariposa is designed so I can actually get my own water without having to ask my partner to hand it to me or take my pack off. This is HUGE for me. I also love that it is comfortable and the frame isn’t digging into my lower back like other packs. I can pack a ton of gear and keep it organized with the two side pouches, I call them upstairs and downstairs. I am an artist and I can backpack comfortably on multi night trips with all my plein air art supplies and my backpacking gear in the Mariposa and everything has a place and fits. It also easily packs my bear can for trips in bear territory. It looks cool and fits great and holds my stuff, I never thought I would switch from my ULA but I haven’t used it since getting the Mariposa. I love the colors that it comes in too, I was lucky enough to get the fun Turquiose colored pack. I have been using it all summer on multiple trips and many nights of backpacking and haven’t found any flaws to report yet. I am 5ft-4in tall and this is great for me. My partner saw how much I liked this pack and he ended up getting one for himself so now we are matching on trail, he loves all the pockets and ways to organize gear, no more where is my headlamp when we are hiking late at night.
I have been using this tent all summer. I love that it packs smaller than my old Zpacks Duplex, I don’t have to worry about rolling it a special way to pack it up, I can just stuff it into the stuff sack and be on my way hiking. I also love the updates to the venting on the top of the tent, it keeps the condensation down even when I am camping in rain or close to water. The bathtub floor is great and the new guyline system keeps the bathtub nice and tall even when you pitch a super tight tent. I spent the night in a windstorm and this tent held up way better than I expected, with other tents I know I would have been up all night fixing poles and adjusting my pitch, this thing held up like a beast in wild windy conditions. Five stars all the way, plenty of room for me and my dog and all my gear. Can’t wait to spend more nights in this thing.
Perfect pack for quick backcountry adventures and super fun run and fly paragliding missions with a comfortable removable back pad that protects gear from sweat and lots of nice pockets for easy access. I bought all the accessories and love them too. This pack is helping me rediscover the joy of lightweight fast packing and paragliding.
I used my Gossamer Gear Loris 25 daypack on my trip to Switzerland and I loved it. It was so comfortable it hardly felt like I had anything on my back. I love the large side pockets the held my water bottles nicely. The hip belt pockets were nice as well and kept my snacks and electrolytes readily available. Great pack for a reasonable price!
If you’re looking for a solid, ultralight trekking pole tent that does not require you to sell a kidney to afford, this is it. It’s light, very compresible, easy to set up, spacious, and fairly weather resistant. I did the TMB in this tent as well as a few overnighters in the cascades and it did well. Some drawbacks - the condensation is manageable but the material takes what feels like a long time to dry. It does sag/stretch a little when exposed to some proper rain. Overall, it’s a very solid choice for an ultralight tent and you will not find something this light and spacious for a similar price.
I love this pack!🌞 Lightweight and very functional without unnecessary pockets, accessories or frills. Fits 2 smart water bottles in one side pocket. Not as difficult to pull out water bottles as some reviews stated but I have long arms. Roll-top closure is a winner. Coupled with a Gossamer Gear fanny pack this is an unbeatable airplane carry-on combination. If you’re an efficient packer this has plenty of room. I just hiked the Fishermen’s Trail in Portugal and the Skala was perfect. Also walked 14 miles around the streets of Lisbon fully loaded and it was comfortable the whole time. Perfeto! I only wish I had the new color—badlands is more my style but there was only one color option when I bought it. Hoping to test this pack out in the Winds in Wyoming this summer and see if it holds up for rugged backpacking. 10/10 would recommend.
I like this bag, quite a lot actually. I do think the 4.7 width is a bit hard to work this, though. I do have my gear pretty dialed in so I can make this work as a weekend bag comfortably but probably not too much longer 4 days before I would need to resupply. I primarily use it as a long day hike or winter hiking bag. It's very comfortable, I love how easily the hip belt can come off or be added. If you are going to use this for backpacking or fastpacking be sure you have your gear is dialed in really well or this will be too small for you. 10/10 would recommend!
I love this foam pad. I toss and turn when I sleep. Normal sleeping pads are noisy, I fall off, and I just can't stand them. This is just enough to keep the ground smoother. I folded it in half when it was extra rough ground and slept with that on the upper part of my body. I found it to be durable but I also only used inside my tent or on my tyvek. The only thing I didn't like is that it did slide around a lot. This is NOT for everyone. You are 100% just sleeping on the ground if you use this as a sleeping pad as I did. Most people do not use this as a sleeping pad but instead use it as a layer between their sleeping pad and their tent. If you are expecting this to be comfortable in anyway, this is not the pad for you. It was the product for me, it met my needs and when it got colder out, I just added a sleeping bag liner to my quilt (cheaper than buying a whole new quilt). I used this for about 1600 miles on the PCT. 9/10 would recommend!
Photo is from my first night on trail of my thru hike of the PCT. I had just come of completing 1/2 of the Oregon Coast Trail in March! This tent kept me warm enough and dry on the Oregon Coast in March, which is a feat all in its own right. This tent did have the seam taping go out right away though, but GG replaced it no questions asked. Then the last 2000 miles the replacement tent held up great! I still use it 5 years later! The tent taping is going out again and I am going to replace it because the tent itself is in excellent shape, zero issues otherwise. This is an incredible tent. Very easy to set up, light, sturdy in bad weather, and found out the hard way, if your hiking partner's tent floods, they can squeeze into this tent with you. I'd reserve that for emergencies though lol. 11/10 would recommend!!!!
I used this bag on my thru hike of the PCT in 2021. I still use this bag regularly. I did have it replaced due to a weird fluke in my first bag of the elastic going out in the pockets and GG replaced it no questions! And this one has held up incredibly! The photos are directly after finishing the PCT and washing it, I put it in a clothing bag and washed in the washing machine. Worked great. Just need use a NikWax product if you want to water resist/proof it. The only thing I would like it more padding in the shoulders. My shoulders at the clavicle really started to bother me towards the end of the hike and I used bandanas as extra padding. Also maybe female specific shoulder straps. That would be nice as well but over, this bag went through hell and back and survived. 9/10 would recommend!!
The Grit 28 Fastpack is turning out to be my favorite Fastpack for long cross country ski outings and winter trail runs. It's up front pouches, one with a zipper, allows for easy access to what you need on the move in cold weather. A phone and water bottle slip in and out easily to those front pouches. Side pouches are roomy enough for a larger water bottle and other necessary gear. The outer pouch on the back has a tear resistant fabric and is easy to slip another bulky layer into. The roll down top is convenient and the zipper pouch on the back, is perfect for a headlamp, hand warmers, keys, id; all the things you want to grab easily & quickly and not have loose in your pack. I kinda love it!!!
I like how this pack feels but the right clasp stopped clasping almost immediately. They felt like a weak point all along but I was hoping for more than 2-3 trips first.
I purchased the Kumo after hiking the Colorado Trail and PCT with my Gorrilla 40 liter. My Gorilla 40 is an amazing pack (that lasted me around 3500 trail miles and still going), but I wanted something smaller. My base weight is 9.5lbs and I can get 6/7 days of food in the Kumo when packed efficiently. Hoping to take it on the CDT in 2027!
After eyeing this tent for years, I purchased the 2026 update just prior to a thru-hike of the JMT. It took me about 5 nights to get the "perfect pitch", but once I had it, I was in love with the tent. It is so functional, and so light. I had space for a wide sleeping pad, and a bit extra room to store clothes and other things. The guyline system was very easy to pitch in the rocky/slabby environment of the Sierras, especially by placing small rocks in between the bathtub guylines in areas where stakes were not possible to use. I will note, the only way I was able to keep condensation from appearing inside in the morning was by staking out the 2 optional head/foot guylines; but that was also helpful for having more space inside the tent. I didn't have a chance to test the tent in an a big storm, but it held up well with light rain.
Last August, I flew across the Atlantic with nothing but this bag and hiked 10 days hut to hut from Chamonix to Zermatt. I loved having my soft flasks in front, and while I thought I might miss having a hip belt, the fit was great and it all just worked. Loaded less, it feels like a well balanced running vest. It's an incredibly versatile bag. Just buy it.
Got the new 2026 Gossamer Gear ‘The One’ specifically for a thru hike on the Tahoe Rim Trail, which I just completed. Over 10 nights, The One performed perfectly, albeit I had no rain and very dry conditions made condensation a non-issue. However, the last night was a more exposed pitch in windy conditions above Lake Tahoe, and the shelter did well, narrow end pitched into the wind. Other than that, I loved the space and the ease of pitching and striking the shelter. And of course the quality, weight and value for money. I look forward to more testing back in the UK, especially as a bikepacking tent.

Previously, I relied on a mainstream brand pack for all my trips and it was fine. However, this summer I used the Gorilla on a thru-hike of the Colorado Trail. The capacity was ideal, accommodating a 5-6 day food carry while also requiring thoughtful deliberation about what to bring. The pack was extremely comfortable and I had no problems with durability. With the Gorilla, I was able to reduce weight but added comfort, usability, and style. The removal pad makes the carry more comfortable and a perfect door mat for my tent at the end of the day. I'm a big fan of this pack!
Just spent 3 days on Laugavegur trail in Iceland. High winds and heavy rains, but this tent stood firm. I stayed warm and dry inside. My sleeping pad fit perfectly with a bit of room for gear at my head. Vestibule was great for my pack. Highly recommend.
A fantastic and incredibly spacious backpack with intentional and well thought out design decisions. Feels super robust when packed out, holds up well when not. Robic nylon is an excellent fabric choice. Super light, feels indestructible. Stretch pockets are super strong. Design quirks clarify with use: tight opening compacts your kit (“carry less, do more!”), fabric overlap protects the laptop compartment, and the little hollow at the top fits a jacket/rolled up mat or tent perfectly with tote handles secured with a carabiner. Absolutely love it!
I have been getting used to my Miraposa for a few months. enjoying the lighter weight and figuring out the best way to pack my gear. It carries better with my bearikade in the bottom which isn't the most convenient, but allows for less strain on my neck and shoulders with the heavier weight. I am loving this pack.
Excellent pack! We'll designed, ultralight, minimalist and reasonably durable. Bottle pockets are perfect for 1 liter Smart Water bottles. Roomy external stretch pocket adds lots of extra carrying capacity. Included removable back / sit pad adds to the pack's multifunctionality. The easily adjustable shoulder straps are equally comfortable for a 5' 10" male and a 5' female. An absolute steal on sale for $50.
I purchased a bare boxer in 2022 and backpack with it a handful of nights per year. Otherwise it's stored in an indoor closet. Just yesterday the weld/adhesive holding the canister in the middle totally failed while at camp. I liked the size and functionality but I would look elsewhere.
Bought small Kumo 36s (in beautiful yellow!) for our sons’ first Sierra trip. They are both well under 5 feet tall and 70-85 lbs. Rather than getting mainstream kid packs, we opted for investing in lightweight gear and it worked wonderfully. Test hikes and the real thing: 4 miles and 2,000+ vertical carrying 10-12 lbs in Sequoia — as well as day hikes and descent. Both said they were comfortable and really enjoyed the packs. And we should get several years out of them. (My buddy even said he liked the functionality better than his MLD!)
Well, this pack is very comfortable and very light. So it is with great sadness that I post that after a year, this pack is in tatters. The company has great customer service, and when I had a tear on the pack after my first trip, they replaced the whole pack. They were very helpful. However, one year later, I have four substantial holes/tears in the replacement (see the attached pics). This pack had maybe gone in 7 trips of 3-7 days. Gossamer gear has a great design, but the materials need a serious upgrade. I would not recommend this pack for thru hiking or anyone who will put substantial wear into their pack.
