WHY WE MADE IT
Gossamer Gear is an old school boundry pusher, daring enough to hike frameless when it was labeled "dangerous". It's in our nature to tinker! So when a mono-polymer like ALUULA Graphlyte® came across our sewing tables, we put the sewing machines away. Instead, "what if we use heat?" In close collaboration with our factory partners, a new welding manufacturing process was developed specifically for ALUULA.
We made the Alchemy Collection to push what is possible. To take even less. To do more.

Ultralight fabric innovation reaches its full potential when backed by nearly 30 years of expertise.
WATERPROOF
ALUULA is a fused mono-polymer fabric with no adhesives, coatings, and zero risk of delamination or fraying. These unique characteristics lend itself to welding the fabric-minimizing seams and creating our lightest, most waterproof collection yet.
But SCUBA enthusiasts and canoe tippers please note: we do not recommend these packs as submerssibles.

Made with One Ingredient
ALUULA fabrics are mono polymers, meaning they are one substance. This greatly simplifies the manufacturing process and how the good folks at. From manufacturing to design, and how we might recycle products in the future, everything becomes smarter.
-
Keeping The Energy Low
The low waste, low energy, and low fume production method fuses multiple high-performance fibers into one new material. The result is a streamlined manufacturing process with a lighter environmental footprint.
-
Recycle-Ready
The majority of ALUULA fabric, whether it's a production offcut or material in a finished product, is recycle-ready. The fabric's creators are aiming towards completely closing the loop on ALUULA fabric, maintaining it's lifecycle and supporting outdoor brands' maintaining the outdoors.

Striving for Better
We're deepening our commitment to sustainability with PFAS-free fabrics, less packaging, and new recycle-ready textiles-while continually seeking better technologies and processes to reduce our impact.
