My daughter-in-law loaned me her Gossamer walking sticks, and I used them when I did the NYC 2025 Great Saunter, a 32-mile walk around the island of Manhattan with my oldest son. He had a great day together and completed the walk in 12 hours, with an elapsed time of 13:30 hours. Those sticks were instrumental in my pulling tired bones and aching feet around the island of NYC. I had to return her sticks, but I bought myself a pair and am ready to rock'n roll again.
Heute mal auf Deutsch. Superstöcke – extrem leicht und schön designt. Ich gehe nie wieder ohne Stöcke. Schade ist nur der Preis und der Zoll kommt ja noch obendrauf aber das wird sicher zukünftig eher noch verschlechtern.

Love these trekking poles. Just finished a 240-mi section of the WA PCT with these them. They are feather light but super strong, and helped me across steep snowfields and fording raging streams. Highly recommend!
The pair saves 1/2 pound in weight and over a 10 mile trip. This is a huge savings on my energy consumption. . After all, With each step, I lift a pole about one vertical foot Good product, well-made
I live in Wyoming and hike 180 miles every month. I have put about 6000 miles on my pair and use them for skiing . They are the finest piece of equipment that I own. My daughter sprained her ankle hiking; so I bought these for her. Without poles a person will fall down when hiking on ice in the Winter. With poles they won't travel so often. I only buy the best equipment in the World. two days ago I tasted hiking in wet snow and added up my clothing and shoes and poles and I was using 1.3K worth. Thanks for making these accoutrements...
I haven't backpacked with these new LT5's yet but they seem to be more robust than my last pair of GG poles (LT4) that I had since about 2009. Yes, that's 16 years and they were still performing perfectly. I left them leaning on a guardrail at Etna Summit on the PCT in northern California when I excitedly accepted a ride down to town. I loved the feel of the cork handles and how light weight they were. I also had the markings on the poles for setting up my tent.
On day eighteen hiking out from Denali 14 camp I slipped on my crampons and my GG pole broke - which means two things. First, it was my fault, not the pole's. Second, after a six year journey the poles have been my favorite piece of gear. It got my to the summit, held up under multiple international expeditions, held tents securely in the wind, and was the envy of fellow hikers with heavy BD poles. Couldn't be more impressed with the quality of GG gear and can't wait to get a new one for future adventures!
Well made but I found the twist locking system to be a bit annoying, im sure it would double on trail. They also weren’t as ridgid as i was hoping. Lots of flex.
I tried my friend's pair on the Colorado Trail and love them. After half a dozen pairs of heavier poles over thousands of miles I'm moving up and getting my own. They are lighter than anything else I've ever used.
Almost as good as the old two piece design, which was better.
I used these poles for 3,000 miles on the CDT- they were incredible, and held up beautifully as my tent poles in strong wind and some crazy weather. They were lightweight enough and my wrists never got sore, and they saved me from MANY a fall, especially in the snow of the San Juans. Love, love, love these poles! It also felt great knowing that, once I ground the tips down to nothing, I'd be able to buy replacement tips and keep the original poles with me.

Used these poles on the AT for about 110 miles. One broke just before Franklin. The lower section snapped in two and caused me to fall hard. I had to mail them home in Franklin. I eventually was able to purchase the lower section once I got home. In the interim, I had to purchasing a second set of Black Diamond poles in Franklin. Though much heavier, The BD poles lasted for the rest of the AT. I love how super light they are, but they easily broken. Not a great choice for thru-hiking the AT for me, but great for local small fairly flat trails.
This is amazingly lightweight poles. I love it so far.
I gave LT5 poles to my 93 year old father for Christmas last year. He uses them all the time; extended walks nearly daily. Just received this anecdote visiting Grandbaby in LA: “Just returned yesterday from short visit to our friend in San Luis Obispo. In LA we took long walk down, way down to the lake in Echo Park and back. I could never have done that without those walking sticks. The next morning when we were getting ready to leave LA, Gemma picked up the walking sticks from near the front door and brought them over to me. Nice and lightweight, but the rubber boots are practically worthless, as they slip off at the slightest provocation.
I have used my LT5 poles for hundreds and hundreds of miles of hiking and backpacking. I like that they are very lightweight, and I love how easy it is to make quick adjustments to pole length. I use them on all my backpacking trips in the Sierra and they have never let me down. Having poles I can count on is critical when they also double as poles for my Zpack tent. These LT5 poles give me the confidence I need to take on the JMT with no backup system. I love my Gossamer LT5 poles!

Bought these poles years ago and have really put them through the ringer. Took them with me on the Everest Base Camp trek most recently and leaned on them hard for 10 days. While one of the wrist straps did break on that trip (after several years of use beforehand mind you) I just tied the two ends in a knot and kept on going. By far one of my favorite pieces of kit, these poles are the lightest I've ever found and twice as tough. Worth every penny if you are an ultralighter.
The trekking poles were exactly as described, sturdy, light and very comfortable. It’s a great product.
AT 2024 through hiker. I should start by saying that I have used these poles every mile I have walked on trail and I thoroughly enjoy them. However, for those of you who would like a rundown of the poles lifespan, here it is. (M- Mile)(L- Left Pole)(R- Right Pole) M170 L wrist strap broke - M450 R wrist strap broke - M680 R metal tip pushed into lower shaft - M700 L hand grip glue failed then pole broke through top of grip - M740 L metal tip pushed into lower shaft - (Today) M930 L lower shaft snapped. Despite the early failure of the wrist straps, I would still recommend these poles for their weight, hand grip comfort, and overall strength. All in all I do plan on purchasing another pair to complete my through hike this year.
I love the poles. I am 84. In January I could only walk ½ mile. The medicine Farxiga has helped with heart problems gradually allowing me to increase in ½ mile increments. At this point, mid May I am up to 2 miles. The poles help my balance and help me increase the distance. I have had a couple of 2 ½ days. What I don't like is the delivery. It took a whole week to go from TX to OH. UPS is much faster. The umbrella shaped gadget just above the spike disappeared in the first outing.
Absolutely love these poles. Extremely lightweight and easily packable. Would 10/10 recommend for anyone who hikes or enjoys the comforts of the outdoors. Whether old or young, these are a must have on trail.
Suuuuper light. Wish they had more colors
Easy on the wrists I took these poles on a snow-capped mountain adventure, climbing 5 peaks in 2 days, one with snowshoes from trailhead to top. These poles performed very well. Their light weight really reduces the "pendulum" feeling while swinging them while hiking on flats. That reduces the chance for wrist pain later. A few issues I found: 1) While there is no measurement marking on the lower rod, a tape measure confirms that it should be fully extended to just before the "STOP" mark. Then the upper level measurement marking is accurate from tip to top of grip. 2) The wrist straps stay wet once wet. It's a trade-off with the otherwise comfortable fine-textured material, I guess. 3) The straps can be pulled loose in the slot while operating. Since it's just a friction loop, rather than a lock, it's possible for them to loosen. Again, this is a trade-off with ease-of-use. None of these issues would dissuade me from purchasing or recommending these outstanding poles.
Great if you don't expect long life I received these as a gift for Christmas '22 and immediately took them on a 230-mile hike. They are fantastically light and reduce the cumulative effort of my arms, which is important as I use trekking poles every step of the way and also as part of my tarp set-up every night. I work them hard and hike some very rough trails and was very pleased that none of the sections broke. But after 400 or so miles, a strap broke, a basket popped off, a twist-lock cracked and rather than immediately spend to replace/repair, I went back to an older pair of name-brand aluminum poles--the first ones I ever bought for a slightly lower price that are going strong without a single repair after thousands of miles. Definitely spend on these if you want to go to the next level of UL, but think of them as a wear item you will continuously refresh rather than an investment.

Super light, pretty sturdy, collapse nicely BUT when you extend them, you have to lock it in tightly, but not too tight to break the internal plastic bracket, but not too loose that it collapses spontaneously when you’re using them. The PERFECT amount may not exist. Or maybe only exists for the first 2 months of a thru-hike, then it gets loose.

Great trekking poles. Have had the chance to take them out on a few hikes and am very impressed by the weight and quality of these poles. A bit pricey, but well worth the money. Highly recommend. Gossamer gear products are top notch.
