I found the Bottle Rocket well placed and quite useful but I sometimes needed two hands to insert my water bottle, sort of a pain when using Trekking poles. It seemed to need just a little more structure to hold shape to receive the water bottle. Note: I use 1 liter Smartwater bottles to carry water but drink from a 700 ml Smartwater bottle (I find it easier to handle and keep pace). I found the diameter of the 1 liter bottles was slightly larger than the 700 ml bottles so I cut the bottom 6" off a 1 liter bottle (~.5 oz.) and inserted it in the Bottle Rocket to add stiffness. I now find the Bottle Rocket is more stable because I can increase the tightness of the straps without collapsing the width, and the 700 ml bottle slides in and out with one handed ease (use of the elastic bungee loop is now a near must). So for any of those who use 700 ml water bottles with your Bottle Rocket, try this. It may make your hike just a little easier.
The Bottle Rocket is great and certainly does what its is designed to do. I love the stiff top that makes it easy to insert the bottle. My son's older model bottle rocket is not stiff like this one. I added tip ties to secure the blue velcro strips to the strap because the my straps does not have anywhere to secure the blue velcro straps to.
Love it easy to get my water since I don’t normally use my water bladder when I go for a short hike
I bought this for my Gorilla 50, and while it does work, I find that the clip straps keep me from being able to easily slip my M!GO bottle back into the pouch. I have to use both hands to hold the pouch perfectly straight and taut so that the bottle doesn't hang up on the straps. Even then it takes a bit of persuasion to get it all the way in.
I think it is a little cumbersome. It sits higher on my shoulder than I prefer. Because of the deep pocket it is nice not to have to worry about the bottle falling out when traversing rocky terrain.
It's a quality product but the Velcro straps are not strong enough to securely attach the holder to my Exos 58 pack, especially when I use a 1 liter Smartwater bottle.
I have mesh bottle holders, but the Bottle Rocket keeps your bottle out of the sun, and super-heating.
good little water bottle pocket... attachments are great... not a fan of the stiff upper cuff around the top of the sleeve, wish it was a cinch top but all in all works great and i like it

Great product I bought two one of the best on the market.
I bought the pack strap phone holder and the feedbag, so I also decided to pick up this bottle rocket. I will update my review as needed once I have spent more time on trail with it. It is a very sturdy construction with a secure mounting system. I really like the bungee strap that keeps the bottle from bouncing out. I am now going to improvise something similar for my handlebar bottle bags on my MTB. I wish there were more color choices. Most of my gear has orange on it.
I used this for a non-gossamer gear back and it works OK. I'd like to see different and alternative strapping methods for this but it's just OK for what it does.
as much as I wanted this to work for me, my pack has no good points for this holder to attach to. the product is fine, but I can't use it. Sorry GG!
I love this. I am new at backpacking and I am buying my gear little by little and this is a part of my backpack that I need.
The product is very well made with premium materals. I’ll give it 5 stars for materials and workmanship. I have to give it 3 stars for the design and function though. If the cinch straps are passed behind the shoulder straps the straps sag when the bottle is removed which then prevents the the bottle from being easily reinserted. If the straps are passed beween the pouch and shoulder strap they dont sag, but they provide no stability or security and the pouch sways from side to side when walking with a bottle in it. If it sacrificed stability in the name if weight savings that is one thing, but that isn’t the case here. Maybe I’m asking too much but I just don’t love it enough to give it 5 stars.
I used this on my Osprey Atmos and I love it. The new design is great and makes putting a bottle in very easy by staying open.
The Bottle Rocket is not the best fit for my pack, but it's well-constructed, light, and bottles go in and out with ease.
I was hesitant to get a bottle holder for the front of my pack. I thought it would get in the way and bounce around. It does neither. It is very stable and well made. So much easier to access than in the side pocket.
Hydration holding device works as advertised. I never forget to water myself now. Im in full bloom, thanks to Gossamer Gear!
The updated design is so much nicer than the previous one. Thanks for listening to your customers. Very convenient to slide bottle back into bottle rocket now!
Very functional
Great bit of kit, fits securely to the shoulder strap and is a lot more stable than other bottle carriers I've tried, compliments the Gorilla backpack really well.
Bought this little jewel along with my Gorilla 50 pack. I have some health issues that made reaching around to get a water bottle from my pack impossible without taking it off. I have now taken this on 2 trips and it really makes it easy to drink as I hike. In addition, it keeps the water in your front view as a reminder to drink more water. Regardless of the pack you carry, you owe it to yourself to get one of these.

Great Water Bottle Holder I used this bottle holder on several of my packs. It works very well. One of the biggest bonus uses for it is , I hang my ball cap on the bottle top and secure it with the elastic strap. I always have my bottle and my hat handy.
Essential Piece of Gear I’ve had mine for 2-3 years and have put it through its paces. I love it. It’s perfect for a 20L Smart water bottle. I put a flip top sport cap on the bottle, which allows me to squeeze and keep going for the first half of the bottle. I can’t imagine not having it on my Mariposa.
Fits the 1L smart water a little loose, so I assume the larger bottles would fit as well
Light with Nice features But I am struggling to get it to attach to my older Mariposa. A video of optional ways to attach this thing would be great.
Not just for water bottles I use it exclusively for my bear spray on my Mariposa. Simple and effective.

Almost perfect Great size for a Smartwater bottle or a can of bear spray. Only gripe is that the straps are difficult to thread through the plastic loops on the Mariposa 60. Took a bit of bending and struggling to get those straps through--they're just a bit too wide! Otherwise it's a great little addition which adds some nice convenience.
Great design 1L smartwater bottle fits perfectly. Realized that I can throw my phone in there as well if I'm storing my water bottles in the side pockets.
Works Perfect This is a great convenient and lightweight addition to my gear. Fits perfect on either shoulder strap and easy to get bottled water in and out on the go, without taking my pack off or can water bladder. Gossamer Gear is tried and true and received it fast. Great company!

Very useful Holds tall 1 liter bottle very well. I like to use it to carry my coffee/electrolytes bottle and it’s great for carrying an extra liter of water.
Appropriate Haven't had the opportunity to use it yet but seems like it will be a good addition.
